Lesson 2 Reflection

Reflection: Assessing Prior Knowledge and Planning Instruction
·                     How will prior knowledge and experience be assessed?
A class discussion will allow me a quick overview of the students understanding
·                     How will you use this information in the planning process?
This information will give me an idea of where to start and if I needed to review specific vocabulary or concepts before advancing to the lesson.
            Reflection: Designing Instruction
·                     Why are you using the instructional methods you have described?
Videos grab the student’s attention so, starting with that helps the focus.  The students enjoy using the smart board to answer the quiz questions and playing games. Both of these activities keep the students engaged in the lesson.
Reflection: Planning Assessment
  • How does the assessment demonstrate that the students have been successful in learning the content?
Having the students do an Exit Ticket allows me to see specific students that understood the lesson and those that need a little more help. I can use that information to revise the next lesson to meet each of the student and their needs.
Reflection: How does your lesson meet each of the ISTE NETs Standards?
  • How does your lesson meet Standard 2: Provide Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments?
The students are learning through a video and then taking a group quiz with the smart board. The students also reinforce their learning through play by playing the game Catch It on the smart board.
