1. A suffix is a letter or group of letters that are added to the end of a root base word.
2. Suffixes change the meaning of a root/base word.
3. Suffixes have their own meanings.
4. More than one suffix can be added to a root/base word.
5. Suffixes can change the spelling of a root/base word.

1. What is a prefix? How does a prefix change the meaning of the root/base word?

Procedures
 Watch BrainPOP jr. Prefixes video. Take the quiz as a class. Read the Belly-Up comic and underline all the prefixes.
 Independent work:  worksheet.  Play Catch It on BrainPOP as a class.

Hour Long Technology Integrated Lesson Plan The purpose of this lesson is to introduce fables and fairytales from diverse cultures. We started our lesson with a video to hook our students. Then we will instruct with a prezi that introduces the content. After, the students will fill in their fable paper and make a toontastic with a partner. Finally the students will present their toontastic video to the class as the formative assessment. The students will then take a summative assessment at the end of the lesson.
