Post Lesson Reflection 1
1. Instructional Decisions/Teaching (InTask Standard # 9):
o What went well and what didn't go well during the implementation of your lesson?
I think almost everything went well. I should have reread the PowerPoint before the lesson and made sure I was okay with the wording. During the lesson, it didn’t seem to make sense but after the lesson I reread it, and it did make sense if read correctly.
o How well was the alignment of objectives and standards maintained?
I think the layout of the lesson kept everything aligned.
o Describe any modifications made during the implementation of the lesson
During the lesson for My NAU class I didn’t modify anything, but when I taught the same lesson the next day for my 2nd-grade class, I did shorten the PowerPoint by removing a few slides that were a bit overwhelming.
2. Mechanics:
o What technologies did I use (for the teacher and the learner)?
o How were the technologies used (by whom and in what manner)?
As the teacher, I used a PowerPoint, and each of the students had a laptop to play a game that reinforced the lesson through an online game.
o My lesson was within the correct time frame
I believe the lesson was within the correct time frame.
3. Assessment of Learning (InTask Standard # 6)
o Describe the level of success you had in teaching the lesson
§ How do your reflections support this?
All of the students were able to follow along whit the powerpoint and only a few needed help or correction with questions in the powerpoint.
All of the students were able to follow along whit the powerpoint and only a few needed help or correction with questions in the powerpoint.
§ How do the comments from your classmates support this?
They all seemed to enjoy the online game, and there wasn’t much said about what I could improve other than minor things.
4. What did you learn from designing and teaching this lesson and how will you use this in the creation of future lessons/learning activities.
I think what I learned most from this was that you can always add technology to a lesson. There is so much out there to use, and for the most part, it's easy to find.
