Lesson 2 Post reflection
1. Instructional Decisions/Teaching (InTask Standard # 9):
o What went well and what didn't go well during the implementation of your lesson? I think the lesson went well. Everyone seemed interested in the video. We enjoyed playing the game on the touchscreen.
o How well was the alignment of objectives and standards maintained? They were well aligned. The primary objective was to show prefixes change the meaning of a root word.
o Describe any modifications made during the implementation of the lesson. We played the game "Catch It" twice. The first round was rough, but once everyone got the hang of it, the secocnd round went smoother.
2. Mechanics:
o What technologies did I use (for the teacher and the learner)? As a class, we used the touchscreen computer and watched a video. As the teacher, I used the website BrainPop Jr. For the video, the game and the worksheets that go together.
o My lesson was within the correct time frame Yes.
3. Assessment of Learning (InTask Standard # 6)
o Describe the level of success you had in teaching the lesson
§ How do your reflections support this? The lesson went well. My Peerreflections were positive. Everyone enjoyed the game and the worksheets. Overall the experience was a success.
4. What did you learn from designing and teaching this lesson and how will you use this in the creation of future lessons/learning activities.
What I learned from creating this lesson is that there are lessons already designed and it doesn't take much to find them and implement them in the classroom.
